PhD Openings

At the University of Udine (Uniud), there are different ways to secure a PhD position:

1️⃣ Open Scholarships

• Candidates choose a supervisor and apply for open scholarships.
• The call for applications (bando) typically opens around May/June.
• Entrance exams take place in July/August.
• PhD programs start in November.
• The PhD duration is three years (fixed term).
• The net salary is around €1,500 per month, with 10% of the gross scholarship allocated for research funds.
• As part of the application, candidates must submit a research proposal, which should be discussed with the chosen supervisor.

2️⃣ Thematic/Industrial Scholarships

• These scholarships are tied to specific research themes or industry-funded projects.
• The availability of these scholarships depends on funding and specific research initiatives.
